I’ve learned that sleeping next to someone isn’t romantic. You don’t sleep in their arms or wake each other up with kisses.
Sleeping next to someone is not getting a good nights rest the first few nights. It’s getting too hot and sleeping as far from one another as possible. It’s having the covers stolen. It’s snuggling into their hard backs to try and keep warm. It’s not being able to roll around because you’ll wake them up. It’s refusing to kiss them until you brush your teeth. It’s sharing the bed after going your whole life without having to. But being willing to learn to sleep with someone, that’s romantic.
